One of the major goals of OSLC Council in 2019 has been to update our congregation's Constitution. Our current constitution was enacted sometime in the 1980's.
Council member Cal Geiger worked with Beth Somers to review and update the constitution using the ELCA model constitution as a starting point. Click here or on the image at right to view the current version of the proposed OSLC Constitution which we will take to the annual meeting in January for a congregational vote. Much of this document is established by ELCA. Where ever you see an * these items cannot be changed. Sections without an * are sections unique to OSLC; chapters 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18.
We will have Q&A sessions November 10th and December 8th following Sunday worship. Please take some time to review the proposed Constitution and bring forward any questions you may have. The Constitution guides the OSLC Council and other committees to carry out the administrative functions of your church. As always we want to hear your suggestions, questions, and concerns so that we may carry out God's mission—"To Promote and Live God's Word"
